What A Greete Idea!
June 4, 2007 at 12:30 pm | In Uncategorized |I was talking to my mom a little while ago, mentioning some jobs/internships I had interviewed for, all of which I was extremely excited about. My mom responded with “that’s greete!” Which was her way of saying either, “that’s great” or, “that’s neat.” English isn’t her first language, so sometimes she flubs a little. When I was 17, I found this completely disgusting and unacceptable, but I am 10 years older now, so it is just kind of adorable. Plus she says it in her cute little French accent, which just makes everything hilarious. So, I decided that in honor of her, I would start using this new word–an amalgamation of great and neat–to describe things and situations deserving of such high praise. So, mom, this one’s for you. As for the spelling, well, I added the extra E at the end to avoid confusion with the verb “to greet.”
Yeah, so greet people by telling them it’s greete to meet them and that you hope they aren’t a spare part.
Also, please accept my apologies for the long delay between posts. I have been working very hard on stuff for school, and have been hella depressed about my unemployment. Of course, instead of channeling that depression and being productive on here, I just kind of sat around and worked very slowly on school stuff.
